Dickinson, N.D. — Dickinson State and Valley City State split a competitive NSAA softball doubleheader on Friday, with both teams showcasing timely offense and resilient pitching. The Vikings took Game 1, 5-3, rallying behind Kylee Banerd’s three RBIs and Maddy Zander’s steady start in the circle. In Game 2, the Blue Hawks answered with a gritty 5-4 win, sparked by Allyson Farrington’s three-RBI performance and late defensive poise. With the split, Dickinson State improved to 12-2 in conference play, while Valley City State moved to 7-7 as both teams remain in the thick of the NSAA postseason race.
