Dickinson, N.D. — Dickinson State junior catcher Brooke Lijewski has been named the NAIA Softball Player of the Week after a dominant performance at the plate over the weekend.
Lijewski went an eye-popping 10-for-13 over four games, slashing .769/.786/1.846. She recorded three doubles, a triple, three home runs, and drove in 12 runs while striking out just once during the stretch.
"Brookie had an unbelievable weekend at the plate," said head coach Kristen Fleury. "She helped set the tone the entire weekend for our team on offense and continues to prove her dominance. Her teammates did a great job getting on base ahead of her and giving her the opportunity to hit them in. She is a kid who is always taking extra swings and is never satisfied—and it's really paying off."
Lijewski's standout performance helped fuel the Blue Hawks' offensive surge and solidified her as one of the top hitters in the country.
