Blue Hawks sweep weekly Runner of the Week awards

DICKINSON, N.D. - Dickinson State cross country swept the North Star Athletic Association Weekly awards as Emberlyn Hoffman-Gaschk and Caleb Sarsland took home the honors for their efforts on the week.

Hoffman-Gaschk, sophomore from Billings, Montana, placed 26th at the NCAA Division II cross country meet, the Minnesota State-Moorhead Dragon Twilight. She was the highest NAIA place finish in the 4K racecourse, clocking a time of 15 minutes, 17.90 seconds. A total of 94 runners completed the women’s racecourse.

Sarsland, a freshman from Bowman, North Dakota, placed 10th at the Dragon Twilight meet. He finished with a time of 18 minutes, 59.30 seconds in the 6K racecourse. Sarsland finished as the highest NAIA place finisher in the men’s cross country meet, which featured a total of 96 runners.
