7 Blue Hawks place at Grand View Open

Des Moines, Iowa - The Dickinson State women's wrestling team showcased their talent at the Grand View Open. The Blue Hawks competed in the silver division which consisted of mainly freshman and sophomores, while the gold division was the upperclassman, all-americans, and division one athletes respectively.

Leading the way in the Gold 131-pound division, Jumoke Adekoye delivered an impressive performance, securing a third-place finish. Competing against some of the nation's top wrestlers, Adekoye displayed her skill and resilience, battling through a tough bracket to earn a podium spot.

In the Silver division, the Blue Hawks had a strong presence across multiple weight classes, beginning with the 110-pound bracket, where Myriam Riley placed fifth. Riley showed determination throughout the tournament, picking up key victories to claim her spot among the top five.

The 117-pound weight class saw two Blue Hawks place. Larhae Whaley led the way with a fourth-place finish, putting together a solid tournament run. Right behind her, Rebekah Anderson finished sixth, showing her ability to compete at a high level. 

Moving to the 145-pound bracket, Savannah Brehm battled her way to a fifth-place finish, competing against a deep field of opponents and securing crucial wins to claim her place.

In the upper weight classes, Hayla Hoffman had the team's highest Silver division placement, earning a runner-up finish in the 180-pound bracket. Hoffman's dominant performances throughout the tournament led her to the championship match, where she finished as the Silver division's second-place wrestler.

Also competing at 180 pounds, Savannah Rickter placed sixth, rounding out the Blue Hawk placers and adding another strong result for the team.
