Jacey Gorder becomes first women's wrestling signee in school history

DICKINSON – Head coach Tyson Springer and Dickinson State women’s wrestling announced the first signing in school history on Monday. Jacey Gorder (Baker, Mont.) became the first signee for the Blue Hawks 2023-2024 class. After starting wrestling just a few years ago, Gorder has put together an impressive resume. She currently holds a 54-14 record heading into the spring of her senior year, including a third-place finish at the state meet her sophomore year. She has won consecutive Montana Amateur State titles and was a member of the Team Montana Junior Nationals team.

The Gorder name may be familiar to Blue Hawk wrestling fans, Jacey’s father, Darick Gorder, was a three-time All-American for the Blue Hawks during his time at Dickinson State. Jacey hopes to continue that legacy and keep her streak of "firsts" going. In addition to being the first women’s wrestling signing at Dickinson State, she also holds the distinction of first varsity women’s wrestler at Baker High School and the first state tournament appearance for a woman at BHS.

“Jacey made Dickinson State history today by being our first ever Women's wrestling signee! Jacey’s dad is a former 3x All-American for the Blue Hawks and we can’t wait to get her out here to Blue Hawks Country!” said Springer about the signing.

Springer, Gorder, and the rest of the Blue Hawk women's wrestling team will make history once again when they compete for the first time starting in the fall of 2023.
