Billings, Mont. – Dickinson State battled with #13 Providence (Mont.) but ultimately fell in three sets, 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-10), to kick off the North Star/Frontier CrossOver tournament.
Madi Wahl led the Blue Hawks with 9 kills while McKenzie Moser and Scarlette Schwindt each added seven in the loss. The Blue Hawks started the match hitting .238 in the first set, but the percentage dropped in each of the ensuing sets, falling to -.148 in the final frame.

The second and third sets were largely controlled by Providence, with a 4-0 run by DSU midway through the second set being the only time Dickinson State threatened after the first set.
