Blue Hawks drop five-set thriller to Dakota State

DICKINSON, N.D. – Dickinson State jumped out to an early 2-1 lead in the match, but Dakota State rebounded to win the last two sets and win the match 3-2 in the final home match of the season for the Blue Hawks.

After Dakota State took the first set 25-14, DSU responded by taking the next two sets 25-19 and 25-21. The Blue Hawks got a fantastic effort from Brooklyn Wyllie, playing in her final game at Scott Gym, as she collected 20 kills and 6 digs to lead Dickinson State. McKenzie Moser added 15 kills and 13 digs for another double-double and Madi Wahl chipped in 7 kills.

With the Blue Hawks leading 2-1, the Trojans started to regain control of the match as they never trailed again and dominated the final two sets to win the match.

The Blue Hawks are still in the postseason hunt, as they now travel east to take on Viterbo University and Waldorf University to close the season. A win over Waldorf would clinch  a spot in the North Star Athletic Association Conference Tournament, while two losses would likely end the Blue Hawks' season.
