Blue Hawks fall to Bruins in three sets

BELLEVUE, NEB. - Dickinson State dropped all three sets at Bellevue University on Thursday, falling 25-14, 25-20, 25-17 to the Bruins.

The Blue Hawks offense never really got going in the match, being held to just a .009 attack percentage. McKenzie Moser led the team with 7 kills and Abigail Suiter added 4. Haydin Henschel gathered 18 digs to lead the Blue Hawks while Moser added 7.

After not leading at all in the first set, Dickinson State held a 20-17 advantage late in the second set, but an 8-0 Bellevue run (including 6 kills) ended the set before DSU could score another point.

The third set went similar to the first, with Bellevue jumping out to an early lead and never looking back, although a 4-1 run by the Blue Hawks threatened to make things interesting late.

DSU did hold an advantage in blocks, service aces, and service errors, but the gap in attack percentage (.227 to .009) was just too much to overcome.
