Blue Hawks come up short to wrap up weekend in Hastings

HASTINGS, Neb. – Dickinson State fought off the sweep in both matches, but were unable to get into the win column as they fell to College of Saint Mary and Mid-America Christian with twin 3-1 scores. The loss moves Dickinson State to 0-4 on the year.

McKenzie Moser had another strong game for the Blue Hawks against CSM, gathering a game-high 18 kills on .176 hitting. Her 15 digs gave her a double-double in each of DSU's first three matches. Haydin Henschel gave the Blue Hawks an extremely efficient performance, slamming 9 kills on .412 hitting. Her 12 digs were second on the team as she matched Moser with a double-double of her own.

Setter Bailey Pearcy piloted the Blue Hawk attack with 33 assists, but Dickinson State was unable to keep up with a potent Flames offense much of the match.

In the second game of the day, all four sets were within five points, but the Blue Hawks lost three sets with identical 25-20 scores to come up short.

Moser ran her double-double streak to four games with 19 kills and 15 digs and Pearcy collected her first of the year with 35 assists and 13 digs. Madi Wahl added nine kills for the Blue Hawks in the loss.
