Volleyball falls to Providence and MSU-Northern

HAVRE, MT - The Dickinson State Volleyball team (2-11, 0-0) dropped both games on Saturday to conclude the 2022 Frontier/North Star Challenge in Havre, MT.

Game 1

Madi Wahl and Katie Collum led the Blue Hawks with 5 kills each, but it wasn't enough to get past the University of Providence on Saturday morning. The Argos took the match in straight sets 25-14, 25-16, 25-22. Bailey Pearcy added 23 assists and 13 digs and Jenna Swope added 17 digs of her own.

Overall, the Argos outhit the Blue Hawks .236 to -.017. DSU committed 27 errors while UP only committed 13, proving the difference in the match.

Game 2

The Blue Hawks battled in 3 close sets, but were unable to take a set, losing in three (25-22, 26-24, 25-23). Katie Collum had a season-high 10 kills, and added 10 digs for the double-double, while Mary Schnell added 7 kills of her own. Riley Faller got her first extended action at setter on the year and produced 27 assists and 10 digs for her best match of the season.

Overall, the Blue Hawks outhit MSUN .101 to .098, but the Skylights made just enough plays at the right times to take all three sets.
