Blue Hawks fall in straight sets

BILLINGS, MT – The Dickinson State University volleyball team fell to the Battlin' Bears of Rocky Mountain College (4-1, 0-0) 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 25-14), on Friday night. The loss moves the Blue Hawks to 0-5 (0-0 NSAA) on the season.

RMC took control of the match early and never let up. The Bears did not trail in the first or second sets. Sophomore Bella Bryan led the way for Rocky with 12 kills with a stellar .400 attack percentage. Mackenna Johnson topped the Blue Hawk offense with 8 kills, her season high. Senior DS Jenna Swope again anchored the DSU defense with 12 digs. Johnson and McKenzie Moser also added 8 digs each. Overall, the Bears outhit the Blue Hawks .247 to -.050.

DSU returns to action next weekend for the Labor Day Classic in Bellevue, NE on September 2-3. They will face Olivet Nazarene University, Benedictine College, Avila University, and (RV) McPherson College over the course of the two day event.
