Gust named USTFCCCA Midwest Assistant Coach of the Year
Dickinson, N.D. – Tanner Gust has been named the USTFCCCA Midwest Women's Assistant Coach of the Year, the association announced Friday. Gust focuses mainly on the throwing group and helped lead the Blue Hawks to a banner season.
In his second year as assistant coach at Dickinson State he coached athletes to top-6 national EventSquad rankings in all four throwing events, including No. 1 in the shot put and hammer throw. His athletes combined for 74 points at the NSAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, led by Field Athlete of the Year Taylor Laumeyer's 28 points. In addition, Kori Nagel was named back-to-back National Women's Field Athlete of the Week by the NAIA for her success.
Gust and the Blue Hawks will look to continue this success as they head to Marion, Indiana for the NAIA National Championships this week.
