Blue Hawks capture sixth straight NSAA Outdoor Track & Field title

DICKINSON, N.D. - The Dickinson State women's track and field team won its sixth straight outdoor conference title on Friday, racking up a conference meet record 300 points en route to the NSAA Conference Championship.

The Blue Hawks won 14 individual conference titles during the three-day NSAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at DSU's Biesiot Activities Center.

Final Results

Viterbo University was second with 180 points, while Dakota State was third with 143 points. Valley City State took fourth, scoring 75 points. The Vikings were followed by Waldorf (50), Bellevue (37) and Iowa Wesleyan (34).

Dickinson State's Kori Nagel was named the 2023 NSAA Women's Most Valuable Athlete, an award that is voted on by the coaches and is based on performances throughout the season.

Dickinson State coach Shayne Wittkopp was named the Women's Coach of the Year.

Nagel also earned the NSAA Women's Field Athlete of the Meet after winning the shot put, hammer throw, and discus competitions.

Wrenzi Wrzesinski of Dickinson State was named the Women's Track Athlete of the Meet after recording five individual All-Conference performances. Wrzesinski placed second in the 100m 200m, and 400m races, and then won the title in the 100m hurdles. She also took second in the 4x100 relay.

The top three individual finishers in each event earned All-Conference, along with the top two relay teams in each event. The Top 8 finishers in each event score team points on a 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis.
