McColly sets NSAA and DSU records as Blue Hawk women take second place

BISMARCK, N.D. – Dickinson State women's outdoor track and field took second place at the Al Bortke Open, hosted by the University of Mary, on Sunday. The Blue Hawks finished behind only NCAA Division II UMary in the meet.

INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS - FULL RESULTS

  • Jewel Olson took third in the 400 meters.
  • Elizabeth Widmer took second in the 800 meters with a time of 2:23.94
  • Grace Timm took second in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:57.14
  • Kaitlyn McColly won the heptathalon with 4862 points, breaking the DSU and NSAA records in the event
  • Wrenzi Wrzesinski took third in the 200 meters and second in the 400m hurdles, her time of 1:02.68 in the hurdles is a national qualifying mark
  • Sarah Griffis took third in the 10,000 meters
  • Cassidy Jorenson took second in the pole vault with a mark of 3.05m
  • Jocelyn Ott took third in the long jump
  • Kori Nagel won the shot put and discus with throws of 14.25m and 44.43m, both national qualifying marks
  • Tori Nygard won the hammer throw with a mark of 51.00m, Nagel took second with a throw of 50.78m, both marks met the national qualifying standard
  • Nygard took second in the javelin with a mark of 36.07m
