Nagel and Calderon take home 1st place as the Blue Hawks compete in the Bison Open

Fargo, N.D. - The Blue Hawks put forth a strong showing at the Bison Open, with the men capturing 3rd and the women placing 6th as a team.

On the womens side, Kori Nagel and Kaitlyn McColly sustained excellence. Nagel winning the shotput with a throw of 14.90m moves her into 2nd in the NAIA, while McColly's 3548 score in the pentathlon jumps her to #3 in the NAIA and gives the Blue Hawks their first win in the NSAA conference meet.

In the shot put, Taylor Laumeyer finished eighth with a throw of 13.03 meters, contributing further to the team's success in the event. Kori Nagel also placed third in the women's weight throw, with a mark of 16.58 meters, while Laumeyer earned eighth place with a throw of 15.47 meters.  In the pole vault, Madison Wahl placed sixth with a clearance of 3.40 meters. 

On the track, Jewel Olson had a solid performance in the 200 meters, placing 13th with a time of 26.06. Kyley Barnett also impressed in the women's 400 meters, finishing 13th with a time of 1:01.85. Meanwhile, Mia Handran took 13th in the 800 meters, crossing the line in 2:22.22. In the high jump, Adarra Hagelund cleared 1.62 meters to secure fifth place. In the pentathlon Faith Sullivan-Brennan secured 6th place with a score of 3114.

For the men, Adrien Calderon led the way in the pole vault event, capturing first place with a mark of 4.65 meters (15' 3") moving him inside the top 20 in the NAIA. Gage Glaser also impressed, finishing fourth with a vault of 4.25 meters (13' 11.25"), while Holden Will, claimed sixth with 4.10 meters (13' 5.25").

In the weight throw, Dylan Dahlgren earned second place with a throw of 17.78 meters (58' 4"), while Corbin Harris secured fifth place with 16.80 meters (55' 1.5"). Nathaniel Woodruff, finished 11th with a throw of 15.37 meters (50' 5.25"). In the shot put, Galen Brantley III placed fourth with a throw of 15.90 meters (52' 2") earning him a provisional qualifying spot at nationals, while Corbin Harris finished fifth with 15.73 meters (51' 7.25%). Ty Bennick added an 11th-place finish with 14.69 meters (48' 2.5").

On the track, Hudson Atkinson claimed seventh in the men's 800 meters with a time of 1:57.07. In the 60-meter hurdles, Jarett Schuchard finished ninth with a time of 9.01 seconds, while his teammate Cole Kukuchka, was 12th with a time of 9.82 seconds. The Blue Hawks' distance medley relay team, consisting of Hudson Atkinson, Quentin Lewis, Eli Heacock, and Caleb Sarsland, took second place with a time of 10:37.45. In the heptathlon Garin Opdahl finished with a score of 4361 placing in 3rd, while Ty Leischner finished in 6th place with a score of 4047.
