Two more school records fall for Blue Hawk track and field in final tune-up before NSAA Championships

Brookings, S.D. – Dickinson State took a smaller roster to the SDSU Indoor Classic in Brookings, South Dakota as a final tune-up before the North Star Athletic Association Championships last weekend.

Kaitlyn McColly and Elizabeth Widmer each set school records in the 60m Hurdles and 1000m run, respectively, as the Blue Hawk women put together another strong performance. The 4x800 relay team consisting of McColly, Widmer, Natalie Lile, and Jewel Olson took sixth place but finished with a time of 9:37, good enough to be an NAIA national qualifying mark.

"The meet was a good tune-up for the NSAA conference meet this weekend," said head coach Shayne Wittkopp. "Some athletes were able to get some rest while others went to Brookings and got in a final race."
