Four All-Americans, six top-ten finishes highlight NAIA Indoor National Meet for Blue Hawk Track & Field

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Six top-ten finishes, and four All-American performances, highlighted a trip to the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships for Dickinson State. The DSU women took 27th place nationally, while the men finished 39th. After taking six athletes to the national meet last season, the Blue Hawks took a step forward with 15 Blue Hawks qualifying for the national meet in Brookings, S.D.
Jewel Olson, Kaitlyn McColly, Wrenzi Wrzesinski, Elizabeth Widmer, Claire Kreidt, Natalie Lile, Grace Timm, Kyley Barnett, Jocelyn Ott, Alexius Miller, Kori Nagel, Tori Nygard, Madison Wahl, Cassidy Jorensen, Martin Farver, and Galen Brantley III all made the trip for DSU and were led by coaches Shayne Wittkopp, George Adams, and Tanner Gust.
"It was a fantastic weekend for our athletes," said head coach Shayne Wittkopp. "Six athletes in the top ten and four All-American performances are amazing. It's a testament to their hard work all season. It's exciting to see the program progress this season. We took six athletes to nationals last year and were able to take 15 this year."
DSU HIGHLIGHTS
- Earned All-American status in both the shot put and weight throw
- Her throw of 14.17 meters in the weight throw earned her 6th place
- Her throw of 17.05 meters in the shot put earned her 7th place
- Earned All-American status in the Pentathalon
- Her score of 3652 earned her 3rd place
Galen Brantley III
- Earned All-American status in the shot put
- His throw of 16.70 meters earned him 3rd place
- Her time of 8.62 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles earned her 9th place
- Her time of 7.72 seconds in the 60-meter dash earned her 22nd place
- Her mark of 3.62 meters in the pole vault earned her 9th place
Martin Farver
- His time of 21.88 seconds in the 200-meters earned him 26th place
Relay Teams
- Women's 4 x 800 meter (Elizabeth Widmer, Grace Timm, Jewel Olson, Natalie Lile) earned 15th place with a time of 9:36.52
- Women's 4 x 400 meter (Kyley Barnett, Jocelyn Ott, Elizabeth Widmer, Claire Kreidt) earned 19th place with a time of 4:12.61
