Blue Hawk women take second at Mike Thorson Open in Bismarck

BISMARCK - The Dickinson State women's indoor track and field team finished second out of six teams at the Mike Thorson Open hosted by the University of Mary on Saturday. Tori Nygard, Kori Nagel, Wrenzi Wrzesinski, Elizabeth Widmer, and Sarah Griffis all earned victories in their respective events, as well as a team victory in the 4x400 relay.

FIELD HIGHLIGHTS

• Cassidy Jorenson took second place in the pole vault with a vault of 3.2 meters.
• Adarra Haglund took second place in the high jump with a jump of 1.6 meters.
• Tori Nygard, Kori Nagel, and Kelsee Cummings took the top three spots in the weight throw.
• Kori Nagel won the shot put with a throw of 13.54 meters.

TRACK HIGHLIGHTS

• Wrenzi Wrzesinski and Kaitlyn McColly took first and second in the 60 meter hurdles.
• Claire Kreidt took third place in the 400 meter dash.
• Elizabeth Widmer won the 600 meter run with a time of 1:42.4
• Sarah Griffis won the 3000 meter run with a time of 12:18.7
• DSU won the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:06.1
