Dickinson, N.D. – Dickinson State battled through tough weather on both days of the Dickinson State Spring Invite at Heart River Golf Course to post some impressive scores. The Blue Hawk men took second place, while the women finished in third.
Leading the way for the men was Blake Barner and Bryce Reed, who finished second and third, respectively. Reed, who was just recently named North Star Athletic Association Men's Golfer of the Week for his performance at the DWU Spring Invite and day one of the DSU Spring Invite, led the tournament after day one and finished with a top-three finish, while Barner shot an even par 72 to vault himself into second place on day two.
Elly Kapua-LaBlanc strung together a pair of strong rounds to take home the individual title on the women's side, while Brooklyn Materi made it two Blue Hawks in the top five with a fourth place finish after a tournament-low 77 on day two.
