Dickinson, N.D. – Three Blue Hawks scored in double figures, led by Kayden Steele's 13 points, but #13 Dakota State was too much to overcome as DSU fell, 96-55 on Saturday.
Katherine Fox (12 points) and Samantha Oase (10 points) joined Steele in double digits as Dickinson State shot 46 percent from the floor, but just 10 percent from long range, in the defeat. Dakota State was firing on all cylinders on a chilly evening in Dickinson, shooting 59 percent from the field and knocking down 16 of their 30 three-point attempts.
While the Blue Hawks turned the ball over 18 times due to the heavy pressure from Dakota State, they also forced 13 turnovers themselves. Dakota State won the rebounding battle 34-24 and committed just nine fouls in the entire game. DSU shot just five free throws, making just two.
Whitney Edwards and Kyrie Alldredge each added eight points off the bench, while Heather LaBree dished out a team-high three assists.
