Blue Hawks win low scoring slugfest over Briercrest

Dickinson, N.D. – Samantha Oase scoring 15 points on 7-9 shooting to lead Dickinson State to a second consecutive win over Briercrest College on Saturday. The Blue Hawks struggled offensively, shooting just 34 percent from the floor, and 13 percent from three, but 12 steals and 26 forced turnovers pushed the game in their favor in the 55-46 victory.

Katherine Fox (13 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists) and Kayden Steele (11 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists) both had productive games for DSU as the Blue Hawks got 43 of their 55 points from the starting lineup. Dickinson State won the rebounding battle 43-37, buoyed by 20 offensive rebounds that allowed them to take 21 more shots than the visitors from Saskatchewan, Canada.

The Blue Hawks now kick off North Star Athletic Association play when they host Bellevue and Dakota State this Friday and Saturday in Scott Gymnasium.
