Bio

Coach Johns is entering his 7th season as an assistant coach with the Blue Hawk Softball team. Coach Johns brings over 20 years of coaching experience to the Blue Hawks and has been instrumental in the program’s success. He has coached at all levels, high school, college and ASA Gold. His primary focus is with the hitters and outfielders.

Originally from Visalia, CA Coach John’s and his wife Chris moved to Dickinson in 2014 to be close to their daughters and grandchildren. His daughters Nicole Johns (Kittleson) and Megan Johns (Gietzen) both attended Dickinson State University and currently still live in Dickinson. Nicole played softball for the Blue Hawks and Megan golfed. Johns is a retired police officer who spent 24 years in law enforcement in California and four years in North Dakota.
