Blue Hawks drop rubber match against VCSU in Minot

Sagan Osborne | Dickinson State Sports Information Director

Minot, N.D. – Early runs from Valley City State proved to be too much to overcome as Dickinson State fell, 5-1, in the final game of the three-game NSAA series.

Valley City gota pair of two-run innings, in the first and third, to take a quick 4-0 lead. Ashlee Potter got a run back for the Blue Hawks with a solo home run to center field in the bottom of the third, but that was the only run DSU could push across as VCSU added an insurance run in the fifth inning for the final tally.

Rhea Paiva, Kara Conway, and Hailey Enriquez all gathered hits for the Blue Hawks, all singles, but each came in separate innings. With the loss, DSU moves to 6-15 (1-2 NSAA) on the season.
