Blue Hawks have strong showing at 2024 Tyler Plummer Classic
Dickinson, N.D. – Dickinson State men's wrestling hosted the annual Tyler Plummer Classic on Saturday, with several Blue Hawks putting together strong days, including one champion.
DSU was led by Chase Nutting, who secured the 285-pound title thanks to a thrilling overtime victory in the championship match, 9-6. Wyatt Engwitcht (125) and Tate Nordby (174) also advanced to the championship match of their weight class but settled for second place.
"It was a lot of great wrestling and adjustments made by the guys which is what we are excited about," said head coach Justin Schlecht. "We are getting better with each match we wrestle. We are very grateful to get to wrestle in our home community and in memory, and honor, of Tyler Plummer."
