Blue Hawks take second at NSAA Outdoor Conference Meet

DICKINSON, N.D. - The Dakota State men's track and field team won its fourth straight outdoor conference title on Friday, racking up a conference meet record 310.5 points en route to the NSAA Conference Championship.

The Trojans won 10 individual conference titles during the three-day NSAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at DSU's Biesiot Activities Center.

Final Results

Dickinson State University was second with 206 points, while Viterbo was third with 120 points. Waldorf took fourth, scoring 99.5 points. The Warriors were followed by Valley City State (61), Iowa Wesleyan (34) and Bellevue (7).

Dakota State's Conner Tordsen was named the 2023 NSAA Men's Most Valuable Athlete, an award that is voted on by the coaches and is based on performances throughout the season.

Dakota State coach Anthony Drealan was named the Men's Coach of the Year.

Tordsen also earned the NSAA Men's Field Athlete of the Meet after winning the shot put, hammer throw, and discus competitions, setting new conference records in all three events.

Martin Farver of Dickinson State was named the Men's Track Athlete of the Meet after recording four individual All-Conference performances. Farver won 100m and 200m races, setting the conference meet record in the 200m with a time of 21.04 seconds. He also finished second in the 400m and was on the first place 4x100m relay team.

The top three individual finishers in each event earned All-Conference, along with the top two relay teams in each event. The Top 8 finishers in each event score team points on a 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis.
