Bismarck, N.D. – Dickinson State indoor track and field returned to action this weekend, with both teams putting together strong performances to earn second place at the Marauder Indoor Opener in Bismarck.

On the women's side Dickinson State dominated in the 60m hurdles with Kaitlyn McColly winning the event in 8.73 (NAIA B standard) to earn 10 points and Faith Brennan finishing 3rd in 9.10 for 6 points.

The 4x400 relay team of Barnett, Handran, Olson, and McColly placed 3rd with a time of 4:07.21, contributing 8 points, while the B team of Heid, McLaughlin, Taylor, and Aune finished 6th in 4:25.97.

In the field events, Dickinson State showed remarkable strength. Adarra Hagelund won the high jump with a mark of 1.68m (NAIA A and B standards), earning 10 points. The pole vault saw another dominant performance, with Madison Wahl claiming 1st place at 3.40m, followed by Taylynd Stuhr and Codi Nagle tying for 2nd and 3rd, respectively, at 2.95m.

McColly also took 3rd in the long jump with a mark of 5.22m, contributing 6 points, while Abby Talkington finished 8th at 4.66m for 1 point. Brennan excelled in the triple jump, winning the event with a leap of 12.25m (NAIA A and B standards) for 10 points.

In the throwing events, Kori Nagel dominated with victories in both the shot put (13.71m, NAIA B standard) and the weight throw (16.99m, NAIA B standard), earning 20 points. Dickinson State swept the top five spots in the shot put, with Taylor Laumeyer (2nd, 13.24m), Chloe Gunderson (3rd, 13.07m), Alician Garcia (4th, 12.70m), and Rebecca Eacker (5th, 11.88m) adding significant points. The weight throw also featured strong finishes, with Garcia placing 4th (14.76m), Gunderson 5th (14.50m), Eacker 6th (14.46m), and Laumeyer 7th (14.41m).

On the men's side, in the 200 meters, Kaholo Toaves placed 8th with a time of 23.41, earning 1 point, while Jackson Whicker finished 14th in 24.60. Quentin Lewis excelled in the 400 meters, taking 4th place with a time of 52.33 to contribute 5 points. In the mile, Hudson Atkinson finished 7th in 4:38.43, scoring 2 points, while teammates Eli Heacock (12th, 4:41.58) and Brady Hoverson (18th, 5:08.50) also performed well. Caleb Sarsland dominated the 3000 meters, winning the event in 8:59.13 to secure 10 points.

In the 60-meter hurdles finals, Maximus Kadrmas finished 2nd with a time of 8.69, earning 8 points, followed by Jarett Schuchard in 3rd (9.15, 6 points) and Cole Skabo in 4th (9.60, 5 points).

The men's 4x400 A team of Carl Askins, Quentin Lewis, Jarett Schuchard, and Kaholo Toaves finished 4th with a time of 3:36.51, contributing 6 points. The B team of Atkinson, Heacock, Garin Opdahl, and Mathew Hansen placed 7th in 3:44.47.

Dickinson State dominated the pole vault, with Adrien Calderon and Ty Leischner tying for 1st place, each clearing 4.30m (14' 1.25") to earn 10 and 8 points, respectively. Holden Will followed in 3rd with a vault of 4.15m (13' 7.25"). In the long jump, Kohbe Smith placed 6th (6.33m, 20' 9.25") for 3 points, while Opdahl finished 8th (6.27m, 20' 7") to add 1 point. In the triple jump, Leischner was 4th (12.94m, 42' 5.5") for 5 points, with Smith in 5th (12.64m, 41' 5.75") and Schiller in 7th (12.40m, 40' 8.25") contributing 4 and 2 points.

The shot put saw a podium sweep by Dickinson State. Galen Brantley III claimed victory with a mark of 15.74m (51' 7.75"), followed by Nathan Woodruff in 2nd (15.39m, 50' 6") and Corbin Harris in 3rd (14.76m, 48' 5.25"). Brantley III also led the weight throw with a winning mark of 16.92m (55' 6.25"), while Harris took 2nd (16.39m, 53' 9.25") and Woodruff placed 3rd (15.42m, 50' 7.25").
