Bio

Thadd O’Donnell is entering his 25th season as a coach at Dickinson State University. With him, O’Donnell brings a wealth of coaching knowledge to not only the men and women’s golf teams, but also a number of different athletic programs. Thadd has coached four different sports during his time as a Blue Hawk. He was the Head Wrestling coach (20 years), Head Cross Country coach (8 years), Head Men & Women’s Golf coach (6 years), and Assistant Football coach (8 years). In that time span, he has coached over 150 All-Americans, 6 National Champions, 35 Academic All-Americans, and was a six-time Coach-of-the-Year award recipient.

A Baker, MT native, Thadd attended Dickinson State from 1985-1991. As a member of the Blue Hawk Wrestling team, O’Donnell managed to be a three-time All-American for the Hawks.

Thadd graduated from Dickinson State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics and Physical Education with a minor in coaching and drivers education. He later went on to attend Northern State University where he received his Master of Science Degree in Arts in Education and Physical Education.

O’Donnell resides in Dickinson with his wife Tracie (DSU graduate 91') and two kids Seth & Kayla O'Donnoll (DSU graduate 15') and Austin (DSU graduate 14') and Danielle (O'Donnell) Harper (DSU graduate 14'). Thadd also enjoys spending time with his two grandchildren, Jace and Hoyt.
