Blue Hawks wrap up NDGA College Meet in Bismarck

Bismarck, N.D. – The Blue Hawks finished their fall season opener at Riverwood Golf Course on Saturday. The event hosted by the North Dakota Golf Association brought together 28 men and 22 women respectively from local universities to compete for an individual title. DSU saw 4 top-12 finishers on the men's side, Blake Barner finished the tournament at +7 T-3, Torrin Ellis +11 gave him the 8th spot, Tyus Thomas +14 T-10, and a pair of freshmen at +15 for a T-12th position in Jayce Johnson and Braxton Wolfe.
On the women's side, Dickinson State boasted 5 players inside the top 13. Brooklyn Materi and Ellia Soydara finished 2nd and 3rd place respectively, Elly Leblanc posted a solo 6th finish, Cheyenne Jacobs ended the event in a tie for 7th, and Lea Aye rounded out the group of Blue Hawks in solo 13th.
"It was a good opener for us," said head coach Thadd O'Donnell. "I thought we competed well. The two-day event on two different courses which many of our players have never seen creates a real challenge."
