Blue Hawks give strong performance again at Waldorf Invitational
FOREST CITY, Iowa - Brooklyn Materi (73) captured the women's individual title, and Bryce Reed (72) took second on the men's side, to lead Dickinson State to third and second place finishes, respectively, on Friday.
Elly Kaupa LeBlanc (81) took third place on the women's side to give the Blue Hawks two of the three top finishers, while Sean Seefeld (75) took fifth to make it two of the top five on the men's side.
"Brooklyn had an outstanding day," said head coach Thadd O'Donnell. "Winning a tournament is a major achievement and shooting a 73 on a course she didn't see until this morning is amazing. The women had a solid team performance all-around."
On the men's side O'Donnell added, "Bryce had a great performance and the team ended up just two strokes behind the winners (NIACC). I thought we played a very solid round. Our course management and focus control is making great strides."
