Blue Hawk golf sweeps dual with Valley City State

MEDORA, N.D. – The Dickinson State golf teams got the 2023-2024 season off to a good start as they defeated Valley City State on both the men's and women's side Tuesday at Bully Pulpit Golf Course.

Blake Barner and Bryce Reed each shot a 2-over 74 to bring home individual titles on the men's side, while Elly Kapua LeBlanc shot a 4-over 78 to win the women's side.

In addition to Reed and Barner, Sean Seefeld (75), Trevor Berry (77), and Jack Solberg (77) all came in at +5 or better, giving the Blue Hawks a 300 stroke total, more than enough to defeat VCSU who came in with a 384.

The women's side was a bit closer, but with all five golfers coming in under 100, DSU took the match 349-384.

It is a promising start to the season for a program on the upswing, as the Blue Hawk men in particular look to break through after finishing second in the North Star Athletic Association last year.
