Solberg sets tourney record to lead Blue Hawks over Vikings
WASHBURN N.D. - Jack Solberg shot a tournament record 80 to lead the Blue Hawk Men's Golf team past Valley City State at the Valley City State Invitational at Painted Woods Golf Course on Monday. DSU entered 2 teams in the competition with both squads coming in under the VCSU team.
Head Coach Thadd O'Donnel was happy with how his team was able to overcome some rough conditions in Washburn.
"For playing almost 7,000 yards in 30 mph winds the scores we put up were good. Having our second team come out and beat our first team really goes to show how much depth we have this year. Jack played very well considering the conditions and was able to set a tournament record."
