Egbule named Player of the Year, Selvig Coach of the Year, in NSAA postseason awards

BISMARCK, N.D. – Dickinson State secured multiple postseason honors as the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) announced its men's basketball awards Tuesday. The Blue Hawks finished the regular season atop the standings with a 12-3 conference record and will play Jamestown in the tournament championship game.

Senior guard Kose Egbule was named NSAA Player of the Year, and he also earned First Team All-Conference honors. Senior guard John Evans was also named to the First Team, marking his third career all-conference selection.

Junior forward Cordell Stinson was selected to the Second Team All-Conference and NSAA All-Defense Team, recognizing his impact on both ends of the court. Senior guard Trey Stevens earned a Second Team selection as well, contributing as one of the conference's top three-point shooters.

Head coach Derek Selvig was named NSAA Coach of the Year, leading the program to the conference title in his first season. Under his leadership, Dickinson State established itself as the top defensive team in the league while maintaining one of the most efficient offenses.

Honorable Mention honors went to senior guard Aidan Fishell. The Blue Hawks also had a Champion of Character selection in Jaiden Wright, who was recognized for leadership on and off the court.

Dickinson State will host No. 2 seed Jamestown in the NSAA Tournament Championship. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT in Scott Gymnasium.
