Mayville, N.D. - Dickinson State emerged victorious in a thrilling double-overtime battle against Mayville State, securing an 89-85 win on Friday at Lewy Lee Fieldhouse. The Blue Hawks outlasted the Comets in a tightly contested matchup to improve to 7-7 on the season and 2-0 in conference play.

"It was a gritty win for our guys on the road," said head coach Derek Selvig. "We started out pretty flat, and Mayville did a good job keeping their foot on the gas. Down 15 with 10 minutes to go in the game is a pretty big hill to climb but our guys kept fighting and didn't give up and I'm pretty proud of their effort. Jaiden Wright and Bradyn Palmer both gave us huge sparks tonight. Just another team effort and we are thankful to squeak out a road win in conference!"

The game began as a defensive battle, with Mayville State taking a 34-24 lead into halftime. Dickinson State struggled offensively in the first half, shooting 30.3% from the field and just 16.7% from three-point range.
