Blue Hawks fall, 89-79, at Waldorf

Forest City, Iowa – Dickinson State got 24 points, on 10-16 shooting, from starting guard Trey Stevens, but couldn't overcome a hot-shooting night from host Waldorf University, as they fell, 89-79, on Friday.

After a Josiah Haaland bucket made it 2-0 DSU, Waldorf answered with a 5-0 run, and led 8-6 with 15:09 left in the first half, never trailing again the rest of the way. Dickinson State made multiple runs throughout the contest, but the Warriors had an answer at every turn, never letting the Blue Hawks tie the game or take the lead.

Waldorf shot a blazing 13-24 from long distance to maintain their lead the rest of the way while also dominating the glass to a tune of 44-25. DSU turned the ball over just four times, keeping their hopes alive for much of the contest, but the hot shooting and dominating rebounding of Waldorf proved to be too much to overcome.

Jaiden Wright scored 10 points off the bench as the only other Blue Hawk in double figures, while Haaland, Kose Egbule, and Cordell Stinson each chipped in eight.
