Blue Hawks drop overtime heartbreaker to Rocky Mountain

Dickinson, N.D. – Dickinson State dropped an overtime thriller to Rocky Mountain College on Saturday night in front of a large Scott Gym crowd. The Blue Hawks held the lead with just ten seconds to go in the game, but a game winner with just over a second left from RMC gave the visitors a 108-107 win.

Kose Egbule led the way for DSU with 27 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds while all four other Dickinson State starters reached double figures as well. Cordell Stinson scored an efficient 20 points on 7-10 shooting. John Evans (18 points, 8 assists), Gus Wright (15 points, 6 rebounds), and Aidan Fishell (12 points, 6 assists) all had solid games for DSU as they shot 54 percent as a team from the field but going just 15-21 (71 percent) from the free throw line proved costly.

Another big difference in the game came in the rebounding battle as Rocky Mountain dominated 50-30 including 13 offensive boards. DSU stayed in the game mainly by taking care of the ball, turning it over just 10 times in 45 minutes of game action.
