Cold shooting dooms Blue Hawk men against Montana Western

Dillon, Mont. – A tough first half for Dickinson State proved costly as the Blue Hawks fell, 61-44, to host Montana Western on Saturday.

The Blue Hawks jumped out to an early lead, 2-0, on a layup by Cordell Stinson, but UMW quickly responded with a 12-0 run to take control of the game and they never looked back. DSU shot just 9-32 from the field in the first half, including 1-13 from long range, as they trailed by 14 at halftime despite turning the ball over just three times.

The second half wasn't much kinder to the Blue Hawks on the offensive end, as they again went 1-13 from three and 8-34 from the field despite holding the Montana Western offense to just 28 points in the second twenty minutes.

Bradyn Palmer led the Blue Hawks with 10 points off the bench while also pulling down 4 rebounds. Stinson led the DSU starters with eight points and five rebounds as the Blue Hawk starting line up was held without a double digit scorer for the first time this season.
