Blue Hawks dominate NSAA postseason awards

Bismarck, N.D. — Dickinson State earned five major awards and landed 15 players on either the First or Second North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) All-Conference teams, the league announced Monday. Four more players were named as Honorable Mentions.

The Blue Hawks went undefeated (8-0) in NSAA play and secured their 10th consecutive conference title.

Senior quarterback Will Madler earned Offensive Most Valuable Player and Player of the Year honors, while senior defensive back Jayden Heartwell was named Defensive Most Valuable Player. Head coach Pete Stanton was selected as Coach of the Year, and senior offensive lineman Nathaniel 'Scotty' Woodruff claimed Offensive Lineman of the Year.

Dickinson State will now look to continue their season as they move into the NAIA Football Championship Series Second Round against #4 Montana Western after defeating #19 Kansas Wesleyan, 27-20, in the First Round.
