SENIOR SENDOFF: The Blue Hawks play back-to-back home games for the first time this season as they take on Valley City State with an NSAA title on the line … if DSU wins on Saturday they will clinch their ninth consecutive North Star Athletic Association football championship, a loss will create a scenario where DSU would need to win in their final game against Dakota State to clinch at least a share of the title … the Blue Hawks will also honor their seniors in what could be their final game at the BAC, a potential home playoff game is possible with the addition of an extra round to the NAIA Championships this season
THE SERIES...
vs VCSU: DSU leads 49-35-5
Last: DSU 34-10 (09/30/23 in Valley City) / Streak: DSU 6
Notes: Dickinson State has dominated the rivalry in recent years, winning the last six games, and 14 of the last 15, against the Vikings … VCSU has not scored more than 14 points against the Blue Hawks since a 23-22 victory in 2019
SCOUTING THE VIKINGS: Valley City State has lost just two games this season, one to NCAA D2 South Dakota Mines, and the other to DSU … the Vikings have not scored more than 28 points in a game this season, so they have to find a way to stop a Blue Hawk offense that is scoring 36 points per game if they want to have success
IN THE POLLS…
The Blue Hawks stayed steady at #18 in this week's national poll (10/30)
