Full NAECAD release

DES MOINES, Iowa – Dickinson State University's (DSU) Eli Egli has been named the National Association of Esports Coaches and Directors (NAECAD) October Player of the Month. The award marks Eli's first NAECAD honor with the Blue Hawk eSports program.

Egli holds the post as the captain of the Valorant team at DSU. The freshman has poised big games for the Blue Hawks through his first season with the team.

"Eli has taken charge as captain of the Valorant team at Dickinson State this year and has done an outstanding job," stated DSU's eSports coordinator Joshua Nichols. "Eli is an instrumental part of the success of this team and not only is he a skilled player, but he has a wealth of knowledge of the game and shares his talent with the rest of his teammates. He schedules scrims and takes the time to help the entire program – more than just himself."

The honor is awarded to a collegiate eSports student-athlete who exemplifies a balance of athletic achievement, sportsmanship and citizenship. While elite performance in game is important, this award is aimed at recognizing the overall impact the individual has made. Monthly award winners are eligible for nomination for the Player-of-the-Year award – which will be awarded at the NAECAD National Convention every year.
