Blue Hawk cheer earns at-large bid to NAIA National Championships

Dickinson, N.D. – Dickinson State competitive cheer is headed back to the NAIA National Championships for the third consecutive season, the NAIA announced on Monday. The Blue Hawks currently sit at #1 in the nation in scoring average at 94.80 and they were rewarded with the top at-large bid to the national finals.

The Blue Hawks have soared to new heights this season, winning all but one competition they were a part of in the regular season and regularly scoring in the mid 90’s.

The national championships will be held on March 29-30 in Ypsilanti, Michigan on the campus of Eastern Michigan University. The Blue Hawks finished in fourth place in both the 2022 and 2023 seasons and will look to improve on that this spring.

Three schools will be making their first trip to the NAIA National Cheer Championships (Florida Memorial, Northwestern (Iowa), and Saint Mary (Kan.), while all the other qualifiers competed for the red banner last season.
