Mike Dahl is entering his fifth season as the head baseball coach for the Dickinson State University (DSU) Blue Hawks.

In 2022-2023 Dickinson State posted a 22-28 overall record and a 12-15 mark in the NSAA. Dawson Cortese was named 1st team All-Conference, Balas Buckmaster and Gabe Lundbeck were both named 2nd team All-Conference. Coach Dahl coached 11 NSAA All-Conference athletes, one Gold Glove recipient, 25 NSAA Scholar-Athletes, and three NAIA Daktronics scholar-athletes.

In the 2021-2022 season, Dickinson State tallied a 20-24 overall record and a 11-9 mark in the NSAA. Four members of the team were named 2nd team All-Conference and another was a Gold Glove recipient.

In the team’s first season back, after a two-year hiatus, the Blue Hawks posted an overall record of 15-25 and 11-12 in conference play, which secured a 5th place overall finish in the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Conference. With their finish in the conference, the Blue Hawks qualified for the NSAA postseason tournament and placed 3rd.

Prior to being the head coach at Dickinson State, Mike was the head coach for Presentation College in Aberdeen, SD. In his first season at the helm in 2017, Coach Dahl led Presentation to the best record in program history with 26 wins and advanced to the North Star Conference Tournament championship game. Coach Dahl coached five NSAA All-Conference athletes, an NSAA Newcomer-of-the-Year, an NAIA Player-of-the-Week recipient, one NAIA-Daktronics Scholar-Athlete and 12 NSAA Scholar-Athletes. He was voted North Star Coach-of-the-Year by his fellow conference coaches following the record-breaking season.

Prior to Presentation College, Dahl served as the baseball graduate assistant coach for two seasons at NCAA DII Northern State University (NSU) under head coach Dean Berry, who was named 2014 NSIC Coach of the Year and helped the Wolves' baseball team make the conference playoffs for the first time in almost two decades. Dahl's duties were working with the hitters and outfielders. He was able to coach three NSIC Second-Team All-Conference athletes as well. During his time at NSU, he earned his Master of Science in Sports Performance and Leadership. Prior to NSU, he was an assistant varsity and head JV baseball coach for NCAA DII Schreiner University (TX) for one year. He worked specifically with the hitters and outfielders.

In 2010 and 2011, Dahl had an internship with the Pittsburgh Pirates, working in their video analysis department. He used computer software called BATS, which allows each pitch type, location, and velocity to be recorded and stored within the system. Video data was recorded at the same time as the pitch, which allowed pitchers, batters and coaches to review the game film. He worked one season in Charleston, WV with the West Virginia Power (class A affiliate). The second season took him down to Bradenton, FL working with the Bradenton Marauders (class advanced A) and the Gulf Coast League (rookie ball teams).

In the spring of 2010, Dahl graduated from the University of Charleston, WV, with a degree in Sports Administration and a minor in Business. He played baseball all four years as an outfielder.

Coach Dahl currently resides in Dickinson, ND.
