Bio

Eric Ihde is a strength and conditioning specialist for Sanford SPORTS and the Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning for Dickinson State University, where he directly oversees the training for Men’s Basketball and Cheer while assisting with all other DSU sports. Eric is also the Head Strength and Conditioning coach at New England High School.

Before coming to DSU, Eric was at North Dakota State University as a graduate assistant where he worked directly with the Bison football team who appeared in the 2023 FCS National Championship game during his tenure. As a graduate assistant Eric earned his Master’s degree in Health, Nutrition, and Exercise Science in the spring of 2024.

Before his position at NDSU, Eric gained experience as a summer volunteer intern at the University of Wisconsin, Tarleton State University and Tulane University.

Eric earned his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Studies with an emphasis in Fitness and Wellness, with a minor in Biology in the spring of 2022 from Upper Iowa University. While completing his undergraduate degree, Eric was also a 4-year member of the football team where he played fullback for the Peacocks and spent two years as a strength and conditioning intern working with other Peacock athletes. Eric also earned NSIC All-Academic honors during his time at Upper Iowa.

A Garnavillo, Iowa native, Eric was a 2018 graduate from Clayton Ridge High School as a four-sport athlete participating in football, wrestling, track and baseball.
