Dickinson, N.D. – Dickinson State captured its third North Star Athletic Association Commissioner’s Cup in four years, and second consecutive, narrowly beating out Dakota State for the second year in a row, the league announced on Monday. Athletic Director Pete Stanton was also named the NSAA AD of the Year for the second consecutive season.
The Blue Hawks were led by conference championships from football, softball, women’s indoor and outdoor track and field, and men’s and women’s cross country.
Points were awarded for a school’s finish in season-long standings and at NSAA championship events. A team earned 1.5 points per finish/place in their sport if that sport had a regular-season schedule and a regular-season conference champion. The sports included football, volleyball, basketball, baseball, and softball.
A team earned one (1) point counted when teams are competing in a single-event NSAA conference championship. Single-event NSAA conference championship sports included cross country, track & field (indoor and outdoor), and golf.
